MonaVie Natural Energy Drink EMV

MonaVie EMV Energy Drink
To be frank, I’m not a huge fan of energy drinks… I don’t do coffee or caffeinated soda but it’s not because of my religious views or or tastes. I just really don’t think it’s that healthy and I don’t feel like spending money on a problem I could solve with a bit of extra sleep in most cases. Sometimes however, the situation is right and I’ll end up with a RedBull or GU in hand before a long night hike or early morning surf session. That said, rather than ingesting copious amounts of cavity causing sugar, I’ve come to rely on MonaVie’s new all natural energy drink called EMV.
Much like the other products offered by MonaVie, EMV isn’t exactly an energy drink in the traditional sense… the caffeine seems almost an afterthought and the emphasis is on “all natural”. It’s 80% juice with a blend of teas, seeds and berries including green tea, yerba mate and acai. These berries and seeds have enjoyed widespread acclaim from health food lovers in recent years as an alternative to coffee and other stimulants.
I found out about EMV from my local chiropractor who one might refer to as something of a “health fanatic”. She’s into eating raw foods, participating in body cleansing fasts, using fish oils and other remedies and it all goes along with her work in the field of healing. She has actually carried MonaVie juices and wines for many years now and just recently began stocking EMV. I trust her judgment and therefore gave EMV a spin one day when she offered up a free sample. What I discovered is a drink that’s actually hydrating, doesn’t cause headaches and isn’t going to leave me with cravings. This is all great news, if not for the $3 a can price tag.
The MonaVie EMV ingredients are shown below, essentially the back of the can has been reproduced exactly as it is printed:

So where can you get MonaVie EMV? I contacted MonaVie headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah to get the lowdown on where and how to buy some and they gave me a few tips as follows. Firstly, anyone can call their toll free number 866-217-8455 and get it shipped direct at retail price. Alternatively, you can order in bulk and get wholesale pricing, even becoming a local “direct distributor” for MonaVie (like my chiropractor). Thirdly, you can call that same number and get a list of local resellers so you don’t have to pay shipping.
As a disclaimer, I haven’t worked directly with MonaVie, am not a distributor and cannot comment on the business itself but it seems to be trustworthy and has been around since 2005. The company is based in Salt Lake City and was formed by Dallin Larsen, who graduated from Brigham Young University. MonaVie is known for their juices and food products offering healthy alternatives to alcohol and traditional sources of caffeine.
All in all, great company, neat products, perfect for staying healthy while enjoying a boost of energy for your next long hike :)
